Co-Researcher, Univ. of Maryland, Spring 2016 – Present

Working with Dr. Marshini Chetty to investigate the impact of zero-rated services, such as Facebook’s Free Basics, on low income mobile users in South Africa.

Project Lead, Univ. of Baltimore, Summer 2017

Worked under Dr. Greg Walsh to design and implement a system to monitor the health of local streams in the Baltimore area.

Work Experience –

Consumer Engagement & Usability Intern, Consumer Reports, Summer 2015

Investigated and reported internally on how people use consumer products in order to improve current product testing practices.

Tasked with putting together training materials and exercises on user experience and ethnographic practices to present to the team as well as help plan upcoming studies.

Product Usability Intern, Consumer Reports, January 2015

Studied consumer use of washing machines and clothes dryers through qualitative analysis of user submitted videos.

Product Testing Intern, Consumer Reports, Summer 2014

Learned about the process of product testing for a wide variety of consumer products from large appliances to cell phones.

Explored user opinions of detachable devices as well as looked at the pros and cons of these devices for different use cases through the creation of user personas, user interviews, and observation
